At Firm Foundation, we believe that what we believe shapes how we live. Our faith is centered on Jesus, grounded in Scripture, and lived out through faithful discipleship.
Below you’ll find a short summary of the core beliefs that shape our teaching, our life together, and our mission. If you’d like to dig deeper, you can also read our full Doctrinal Statement for a more complete explanation and the Scripture passages behind each belief.
God
God
We believe there is one God, the Creator of all things, who has made Himself known to us. The one God exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three distinct persons who share fully in the divine nature.
The Bible
The Bible
We believe the 66 books of the Bible are the inspired, authoritative, and trustworthy Word of God for salvation and life. We seek to understand Scripture, submit ourselves to its teaching, and allow it to shape what we believe and how we live.
The Gospel
The Gospel
Jesus is the promised Messiah and Son of God. He died for our sins, was buried, rose from the dead, reigns as Lord, and will return to renew all things. This good news stands at the center of everything we believe.
Salvation & New Birth
Salvation & New Birth
Salvation is God's gift of grace received through faith in Jesus. Scripture calls us to trust and follow Him as Savior and Lord, expressing that faith through repentance, confession, and baptism by immersion.
Following Jesus
Following Jesus
Jesus calls every Christian to be His disciple. Faith is more than intellectual agreement—it is a life of trust, allegiance, and faithful obedience to Jesus. A disciple increasingly thinks, acts, and loves like Jesus.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit draws people toward God and dwells within those who belong to Christ. The Spirit transforms, empowers, and leads us as we learn to follow Jesus. We desire to be a prayerful, Spirit-led church.
The Church & Our Mission
The Church & Our Mission
We believe the local church exists to make disciples of Jesus who make disciples of others. We seek to love and serve people, share the good news of Jesus, and carry His Kingdom into our communities and throughout the world.
Life in God's Kingdom
Life in God's Kingdom
Following Jesus changes every part of life. We want to be a church family marked by holiness, love, compassion, forgiveness, generosity, reconciliation, and service so that our lives give the world a glimpse of God's Kingdom.
Living Differently
Living Differently
The Lordship of Jesus sometimes calls His followers to live differently from the surrounding culture. In every area of life, we seek to hold together what Scripture holds together: grace and truth, mercy and righteousness, love and holiness.
The Return of Jesus
The Return of Jesus
We believe Jesus Christ will return, judge the world, finally defeat death, and restore creation. Until that day, we want to love people, proclaim the gospel, and faithfully make disciples.
