Current Study

This study traces the birth and early growth of the church in Acts, showing how Jesus continues His mission through the power of the Holy Spirit. From the opening of the book, the church is not presented as a human organization trying to grow itself, but as a Spirit-empowered movement faithfully carrying out the mission of Christ. Each sermon highlights a different dimension of that mission—dependence on the Spirit, wise decision-making, bold gospel witness, repentance and salvation, and the practical outworking of life together as the people of God.

As Firm Foundation Church begins its life together, this series also serves as a model for how we seek to do church: in the same way the first church did. We want to be a church that listens to the voice of Jesus, depends on the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, and remains faithful to Scripture in both belief and practice. The early church in Acts becomes our pattern—not in a simplistic or mechanical way, but in a Spirit-led commitment to gospel proclamation, prayer, unity, courageous witness, and faithful leadership. As we study Acts, we are not only learning what happened then, but who we are called to be now.
